SUMMER RIDING SESSIONS
Summer Riding Sessions
During the summer, beginning in June, Summer Riding Sessions begin and are held for 9 weeks.
SRS run from 9 am to 12 noon (pick up), Monday through Friday. In SRS, students spend time caring for their horse or pony (assigned daily) - with different tasks ranging from cleaning stalls, feeding, and grooming. They will also participate in a group lesson based upon their riding ability, and finish off the day with horsemanship activity. This is a great way for beginner riders to get a hands on experience with horses and riding, and a way for more experienced riders to further the skills and techniques.

We offer the opportunity to compete primarily as a learning experience for our students that will help them grow as riders. All of Harlequins lesson horses and ponies compete too!
Below are links to informational sheets regarding all the aspects of showing - what you need, what the costs are, and, of course, where we are going!
We encourage students/parents to talk directly with your instructor if you are interested in competing during the season, so that we can try and find a show that is a best suited for horse and rider.
What better way to spend a Monday evening than in one of our group riding clinics! This is the newest addition to our variety or programs offered here at Harlequin. Our group clinics are a great way to enjoy the social aspects of riding with other students enrolled in our lesson program while learning about a specific topic. Upcoming topics will include: Ring etiquette, gymnastic jumping/ grid work, the hunter vs. equitation rider, and beginner clinics offered to students interested in riding but have never been around horses or ponies!
Once students have progressed as riders there is the opportunity to lease or partial lease a horse or pony. Whether it a Harlequin or privately owned horse, your instructor will be able to help you to find an appropriate mount. Leasing is a great way to take on more responsibility in horse care and riding without the full financial responsibilities of owning your own horse. Please speak with your instructor if you are interested in leasing.
We currently have Ike, Dots and Penny available for partial lease. Please email Margie with any questions firstname.lastname@example.org
